Player Score Guide
How reputation is earned, lost, and displayed on TibiaParty.
How Your Score Is Calculated
Your score is a number between 0.0 and 5.0. It is calculated from peer ratings you receive after each party using an Exponential Moving Average (EMA):
- First 9 ratings — your score is a running cumulative average of the ratings received.
- Rating #10 — your score is initialized to the exact average of your first 10 ratings.
- After that — the EMA formula applies:
new score = 0.15 × new rating + 0.85 × old score. Recent ratings count more; older ratings fade slowly.
Score is always clamped to [0.0, 5.0]. Your score becomes publicly visible once you have 5 ratings — before that you appear as ★-- (unrated) in neutral gray, while the average quietly builds in the background.
What Boosts Your Score
- High star ratings from partymates (1.0–5.0).
- MVP vote wins — if your partymates vote you Most Valuable Player, you receive an automatic +5.0 boost to your EMA. Ties mean everyone wins.
- Positive reason tags (Punctual, Good Communication, Heavy Hitter, Skilled, Great Gameplay, Fun to Play With) — these do not directly affect your score but are visible on your public profile and help leaders choose you.
What Hurts Your Score
Negative reason tags deduct from the rater's chosen star value. The total deduction from tags is capped at −1.0 per rating — extra tags beyond the cap still appear on your profile but don't reduce your score further.
| Tag | Score Impact |
|---|---|
| No Show | Final rating forced to 0.0 (overrides stars and all other tags) |
| Tardy | −1.0 |
| Disrespectful | −1.0 |
| Low Damage | −0.5 |
| Poor Gameplay | −0.5 |
| Poor Communication | −0.5 |
| Abandoned Mid-Party | −0.25 |
| Inexperienced | −0.25 |
Additionally, active abandonment (leaving a SCHEDULED party) generates N automatic 0.0 ratings — one per remaining partymate — applied to your EMA immediately.
Expiry penalty: if you skip rating your partymates and the 48-hour window passes, your score takes a −0.1 penalty.
Consequences of Low Scores
- Score below 2.0 — you cannot post to world boards.
- Score below 3.0 — you cannot initiate direct messages (DMs).
- No score (New Player) — you can still apply to parties and DM others. The gates above apply only once your score is calculated.
Scores are a reputation signal that leaders use to curate parties — a lower score makes it harder to get picked. Consistent good play is the only way to improve it.
Rating Is Required
After every party ends, you have 48 hours to rate your partymates. Until you do, you cannot apply to new parties or confirm new confirmation requests. The rating wizard is accessible from the party detail page.
You receive a reminder notification 30 minutes after the party ends, and another reminder at the 36-hour mark.
